Charlotte Clare is an artist from the Gold Coast Australia whom has spent several years abroad managing her band Natural Jazz. Natural Jazz – Band Leader --- 15-06-2005 – Now Since 2005 Ms Looker has been the lead vocalist and band manager for Natural Jazz, a group of world – class Mauritian Jazz musicians whom have been performing as the resident band in Jazz Clubs and 5 star hotels worldwide. Beginning their first contracts at The House of Blues and Jazz, Shanghai, at age 23 she lived and worked abroad as a professional jazz singer and entertainer until moving back home to the Gold Coast in late 2009 with her husband and musical director of Natural Jazz, Jacques Appapoulay. She has recently launched ‘An Island Christmas’ 2011 produced by world – renowned US guitarist Mr Louie Shelton whom was inducted into the musicians Hall of Fame in 2007 and longs for the day she can record a professional live jazz album. Gold Coast Music Industry – Treasurer --- 01-02-2010 – Now
GCMIA is planning local festivals, music conferences, workshops, and development initiatives. Charlotte Clare is a Gold Coast artist whom graduated from All Saints Anglican School in 1999 on a full music scholarship for Voice. By 2000, Ms Looker began her University education completing a BA in Communications and Music Education. Charlotte was an active member of the University Student Guild and also worked as the 20 to 1 show host on 105.7 Radio Metro for 4 years. During her 5 years as a Gold Coast University student she also worked as a professional entertainer and singer at the Gold Coasts leading Theatre Restaurant ‘The Comedy Castle’ in Tugan where she gained a wealth of experience as an interactive entertainer and vocalist.
Ms Looker left Australia in 2005 and landed a job with the best Jazz musicians from Mauritius, where they started the Natural Jazz Band and held their job as resident band for over 1 year! They continued to tour China working for various Jazz clubs including the House and Blues and Jazz, JZ, Back Street, Blue Note and 5 star Hotels around Australia, South Pacific and Asia. All the other band members currently work full time for JZ Jazz club in Shanghai. As all band members have learnt Jazz from working as professional musicians since a very young age, she decided to call the band ‘Natural Jazz’ as it encompasses the natural Island spirit of their music.
Sam and Charlotte currently reside in Lower Beechmont and continue to compose and record original music and Jazz standards at their home and at Louie Sheltons Studio on the Gold Coast. Performing at various festivals and events regularly whilst continuing to tour abroad. All music entered in this years Music Oz awards has been recorded and mastered in 2012 on the Gold Coast QLD, Australia.
